I need someone to talk me out of this. I’m thinking of starting an online media channel that will focus on Latin America.
My thought is that it will be like the Huffington Post but focused on Latin America. Talk about all the good, the bad, the ugly and the Chavez. There would be videos, podcasts and text items on the site talking about politics, religion, culture and everything else.
I’m thinking English language, but possibly English and Spanish content on the same pages. I think there’s a decent number of people that would want to come read and get their news from the site.
The main problem is finding the time to process the news feeds, and then finding the time to post the news feeds onto the site. I’d need to have employees, or volunteers, or citizen journalists from different countries in Latin America. I have a very small budget that I could dedicate to get the site going.
I would need people willing to contribute of their time and effort to get the site going for little to no monetary reward.
Seriously folks, talk me out of doing something like this because I feel a strong urge to start something like that up.
