Facebook is not your friend, take 2

I’ve posted before about Facebook and about how I feel about their Terms of Service. Facebook has recently updated their TOS (Terms of Service) to indicate that anything that you post on their site belongs to them, even if you quit.
According to the new TOS, anything that you post on Facebook belongs to them and they can in turn use it for whatever they see fit. Be it advertising, promotion, selling your data to some third party, etc. etc.
Really, the thing to remember, is don’t post anything on Facebook that you wouldn’t want to appear anywehere else. I do mean ANYWHERE else.
How do you feel about Facebook?

thanks for the info….i’ll be more selective about what i put out there.
Wow, isn’t’ that just a little bit too much? I mean, if I post a photo of myself and facebook just decides to throw a publicity campaign with my face and maybe using it in a way that insults me or something like that… do they really have the right to do that? I mean, it is still my face, my photo, even if it is posted there. I don’t understand how that can be possible.
The TOS says that they own the rights to use that photo in any way they see fit. I agree with you that it seems much, but since you’ve technically agreed with their terms, then you’re giving them permission. the part that really bugs me, is that even if you cancel your account, they can still use your stuff and you don’t have the option to opt out.
