Facebook is still not your friend, follow up

It looks like Facebook has done an about face and changed their Terms of Service back to what they used to be.

Yesterday, the CEO of Facebook, went out and tried to explain what they meant by the changes that they put into their TOS.  The thing is, after seeing Zuckerberg’s explanation on the Facebook blog, I can understand what they were trying to do, I just don’t like the language that they used.

Folks, I also agree that if you really want privacy, then don’t put anything on the internets, like Shankman says.  Having said that, I think that you should have a reasonable expectation to control what part of and how your data stream ends up being used.

I’m not naive enough to expect complete privacy online, specially in the social media space.  I think that I can reasonably expect that if a company wants to use my intelectual property or data stream for gain, then I should have the option to respectfully decline.

What do you think?
