A few weeks ago, I wrote a post about picking a domain name. I talked about how important it is to pick a good domain name, but I’m afraid I gave no real guidelines for how to pick a domain name.

I came across a website that conveniently lists 12 different tools that you can use for picking a good domain name. So I wanted to reference the site here.

Here are six of the 12 sites that are referenced in the original article:

1. Domainr: helps you find top-level domains. The dot com or dot net name that you want may be taken in this country, but what about in other countries? This site helps you find where your chosen name may be available.
2. Dot-o-mator: This tool helps you find different combinations of words to help you in your quest for a domain name.
3. Bust a name: Give them a list of words, and they’ll combine the words until they find a combination of them that is available as a domain name.
4. Domize: Fast domain name search that can work from your iPhone.

Like with many Internet tools, your mileage may vary. What I mean by that, is that these tools may or may not be useful to you, but I just thought I would place a them on here in case he found them interesting.
