If it says "news article on blah _link_" and I have to click twice to get there, it doesn't bother me much. But if it says "check this out! _link_" I feel "well if you're not going to tell me what this is, I'm not going to bother." One too many times have I clicked on a link on my phone and ended up on some youtube video which started playing with sound, which then embarrassed me in front of my coworkers. You can't even tell you're going to youtube now with all the short links. I want to know what I'm going to see. That is different than what annoys me.
