This is one of the last videos from the Kyle Chamber of Commerce Ambassador BASH. In this video, Josh and I talk about an iPhone app called “Bump.” We demo the application for you in the video. If you’re interested, the app is a free download.
There’s one more video from the event, which we’re debating posting. Anyway, thanks for watching!

This is awesome. This guy is named John Neese and he has some serious passion about what he sells and what he does for a living.
The video is about 13 minutes long, but it’s well worth watching. I had no idea that there were so many different brands and types of “flavored water with a lot of bubbles.”
There are several important business lessons in this video. The most important, in my opinion, is to be passionate about what you do. You also need to be knowledgeable about your market and …

I was pondering the question of when product pricing becomes price gouging while performing some competitive intelligence. I was looking at what the competition charges for similar services that we provide here, and also looking at their page designs etc. to see if there was something worth copying, or shall I say “emulating.”
I’m always surprised at what some of the competition charges for services.
I know how much work it takes to setup a WordPress website and do some of the other related work. Seeing an offer to setup a WordPress …

Podcasting FAQ
Another set of questions that I get from clients and potential clients relate to podcasts. Because of that, I’ve decided to create this little FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) about podcasting. As always, if you have more questions, leave them in the comments or contact me for a private consultation.
Q1. Who listens to podcasts? Isn’t it just kids in their parent’s basement with nothing else better to do?
A1. Everyone listens to podcasts, not just geeks and kids. Forrester research did a study about it, and so did Marketing Sherpa. …

Allow me to get a little bit religious with you. I promise this won’t hurt.
My church, is not a mega church, but it’s a growing church. Two of the three pillars of the church, are connecting people with God and connecting people with each other. So, we have small groups that meet at someone’s house every week so we can connect with each other.
When we get together, we study a biblical principle, have dinner together and just hang out.
Foundations
A recent topic of study, was foundations.
Specifically, we were …

Listen to what this guy has to say.
I read his book “Crush It!” last week and have taken it to heart. Be warned, there is some foul language in the video but the message, in my opinion, is priceless and timeless.
The take away is: look yourself in the mirror, ask yourself what you’d like to do for the rest of your life and do that.
Take 15 minutes to watch the video and leave me a comment with what you think.

This is something that bothers me from time to time. Have you ever noticed how mass media always portrays hispanics as Mexicans? We’re not all Mexican, not that there’s anything wrong with that.
I’ve been watching a lot more Spanish language TV since I got hooked on my novela (Spanish language soap opera) called “El Cartel de los Sapos.” It’s a story about Colombian drug traffickers, but that’s not important right now.
Here’s the deal, a lot of the commercials on TV and a lot of the programming on Spanish language TV …

This is one that I didn’t quite get my head wrapped around until recently. Although they have similar functionality, there are small but significant differences between a Facebook fan page and a Facebook group page.
First, let’s look at how they’re similar:
Both types of pages allow you, and other people, to express their affinity for something. Be it dogs, planes, a person, celebrity etc.
Both allow you to setup forums and have discussions
Both have a wall for posts and allow sharing pictures and videos
Both allow you to message members in bulk
Both allow …

Have you ever wondered how to take your long facebook url and turn it into something short and easy to remember?
With the advent of custom urls this little trick may prove moot, but here it is anyway.
Actually, this little trick could still come in handy if you’re trying to brand your homepage as the hub for everything, related to you/your brand/ your business so read on.
If you do not have a custom url for your facebook profile, or you have a facebook fanpage with less than 25 members, then you …

Here’s the deal, I know this is late, but I got side tracked with other projects and somehow missed posting this. Billy Mays was probably the greatest pitchman of all time. I’ve been an admirer of the guy for some time, but it wasn’t until the TV show “Pitchmen” hit the air that I became a true fan.
The show was awesome. The chemistry between Billy and Sully was awesome and the behind the scenes view of all that goes into making an infomercial was very educational.
I strongly feel that if …
