First, let me say that I love 3.0.
I really feel like 3.0 is the next step in the democratization of the web. Having said that, I have had issues after updating on 1, and only 1 of my sites (out of 30+ that I own and manage) to WordPress 3.0. Here are the details on the issues I was experiencing:
Symptoms:
When uploading pictures to the affected site, the photo uploads without any problem. After it uploads, I go to the screen where I add my title, caption, description, etc. When …

There is a growing backlash movement directed at Facebook over their apparent lack of concern about their user’s privacy. People are either not happy about, or not entirely understanding, what the new changes mean. Specially, the part about how by default, “everything” is social.
Facebook’s most recent changes to their privacy policy are just another milestone in their efforts towards world domination. I do not agree, nor do I believe the assertion that Facebook is merely matching what their user base is demanding.
I just have a hard time believing that users/ …

This is a case study published by SeoLinkwheelers, and was originally referred to me by Shoemoney. What I like about this case study is that it highlights some of the steps needed to perform proper keyword research and then shows you the results that you can get when keyword research is done well.

Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez has joined Twitter. Not because he wants to connect with his supporters or try to win over his detractors. Chavez joined, because he said he would, and that’s it.
I doubt that we’ll see much interaction between him and his followers. He’s got 16,000+ followers as of this writing, and he’s following 5 people back.
Welcome to the party President Chavez. Pay attention to what I’m about to tell you:
I hope that you’ll listen to your detractors instead of trying to throw them in jail. You can learn …

I still have content from SXSWi. I am surprised that I still have so much content left to publish. I was much more interested in how to grow a site, but that’s a story for another day.
In the podcast, you’ll find a segment with Brian Millner, Adam Ostrow from Mashable, Jessica Simmons and Gary Vaynerchuk. I love Gary Vee’s opening “I’m, not Yoda” line.
I recorded these interviews using a really cool Zoom H2 portable stereo recorder. I highly recommend you click on my affiliate link right there and get …

Recorded at the “Hats Off For Hospice” event in Kyle Texas, I had a conversation with Linda Lopez, R.N. about Latino Health issues. This conversation centered around diabetes. We talked about what diabetes is, how to live with diabetes and we also went over some very minor tweaks that you can implement to the food that you eat to greatly reduce your diabetes risk.
I’m not a very medically savvy person, so I learned a lot from this conversation with Ms. Lopez.
Some of the links that were mentioned in the recording:

CNN of course, completely misses the point of the entire presentation. They focus on the lamest parts of the presentation instead of on the real meat of the presentation.
CNN focuses on the advertising aspects of what he said, completely missing the part about mobile phones being the primary gateway to the internet for a lot of people in emerging economies.
Seeing as how Carlos Slim Helu (owner of Telefonos de Mexico) just unseated Bill Gates as the richest person on the planet, methinks that there may be something to this …

Yes, I still have video from South by that I have not posted yet. Mostly because the videos are too long for youtube and otherwise too big to upload to other video sharing sites.
This was one of those videos.
This guy named Hank Wasiak used to work at the ad agency featured in the TV show “Mad Men.” I’ve never seen the show, so I can’t attest as to whether being affiliated with that advertising agency is a good or bad thing. What I can attest to, is that Hank was …
