Hi, I’m Rafael Marquez.
As the primary content producer/ writer/ creator for this blog, I should tell you that my day job is at a digital advertising agency. No, the agency is not called “Marketing Latinos.” Also, the opinions here are my own and not my employer’s yadda yadda.
I am an SEM Analyst, so I spend the majority of my day taking care of Google Adwords, Yahoo!/Bing and Facebook advertising campaigns for agency clients.
I also spend a portion of my day putting together media proposals for prospective clients, putting together ad hoc reports and dealing with a reporting platform that is cantankerous at best.
This site, has a lot of general online marketing information. It also has a lot of information about online marketing scams directed at consumers. The scams, are mostly in the “get rich quick” space and in closely related fields like multi-level marketing.
The intent of this site is to inform, in a possibly humorous fashion.
Who are you supposed to be? You should be someone that is interested in learning about pay-per-click advertising. Maybe you have a business that you want to advertise online, or maybe you are just some person that wants to know what all this digital advertising crap is all about.
I’ll be talking about advertising with Adwords, Yahoo!/Bing and Facebook as well as talking about some of the tools and methodologies that I use for creating campaigns on those platforms. Other people will have different opinions. You know what they say about opinions and buttholes.
Although this blog is free, advertising online is neither free nor cheap.
Sometimes, I ‘ll refer you to things that I think you should buy that will help you as you create and manage your campaigns. Sometimes, I’ll earn a commission on those referrals but I will only refer you to things that I have personal experience with.
Online marketing, is not all that it’s cracked up to be. Your mileage will vary.
Since I work at an agency, I will not disclose or mention any specific clients, but I will mention general information to help illustrate whatever point I’m trying to make. When I have a point to make.
