List of Article Directories

I am a big believer in article marketing. If you’re looking to generate traffic to your website, writing articles and then posting those articles on various sites is the cheapest and quickest way to get visitors to your website.
There are a lot of nuances when it comes to article marketing. For example, 90% of the success of your article depends on the title. If your article doesn’t have a good title, people won’t open it and read it. Yes, you should provide good content in your article body, but …

A lesson in Adwords

I learned a valuable lesson in adwords recently. The lesson was important enough for me to want to tell you about it in the hopes that you will not repeat my same mistake.
Even though I learned my lesson in adwords, the lesson applies to any and I do mean any advertising network known to exist.
Some background info
A key component of an effective pay per click campaign is to have multiple versions of an ad running so you can test different elements of the ad. Basically you want to test title …

How I earned a check from Google

A while back, I came across a picture of Shoemoney with this check from Google Adsense for $152,000+. According to the post that Shoe wrote to accompany his picture with the check, Shoe was doing some arbitrage from different ad networks so his “take home” was probably a lot less than the face value of the check, but I digress.
I myself have received my very own check from Adsense. I was ecstatic when I got it. No, it was not for $152,000 it was for significantly less than that. A …

Cool new Google Analytics features

It’s been a few days since the new Google Analytics features were rolled out to me and I’ve gotten a chance to play around with the reports a little.  I have a 1 word summary for you: Wow!
Seriously, wow.
We now have the option to create custom reports for pretty much anything that we may want to. We also have the ability to break out the data in a much more granular fashion and see some really cool graphs outlining the new data. I like graphs, what can I say?
One of …

In theory, the principle of optimizing your web site for the search engines is very simple. What you want to do, is to have keywords on your site, that match the keywords that people type in on the search engines. The search engines will crawl the content on your site and send you searchers that will find what you have on your site relevant to what the searchers are looking for.
It’s as simple as that, in theory. Where it gets tricky is in the execution. For …

An important part of any website promotion campaign is to measure your progress. If you don’t know where you’re at, you won’t know if you’re heading in the right direction until it’s too late to change course. Here are 3 mistakes to avoid when running your campaign.
Mistake #1 Not having a goal in mind.
Like Napoleon Hill says in his book the “7 Habits of Highly Successful People” you need to begin with the end in mind. Before you start your campaign, you need to have a destination or end …

I’ve learned a few things over the past 10 months in my internet marketing career.  It still feels weird to say that, but if I’m going to be serious about internet marketing, then I need to treat it as a career and not a hobby.  I thought for my 100th post, I’d share the following with you.
One of the most important lessons that I’ve learned, has to do with the resource box on my articles.
Do you know what the resource box is?
It’s that box at the bottom of the article …

I’ve learned a new term over the last couple of days. The term is pre-selling.
Up until recently, I was having a hard time wrapping my mind around how affiliate marketing worked. How can I sell something that I haven’t used? It seemed disingeuos at best, and deceiptful at worst. Enter the concept of pre-selling.

Turns out, I don’t have to sell people on the product that I’m promoting, nor do I have to lie and claim that I’m using something when I’m not really using …

Well, I’ve learned that in order to have good results with adwords, you must do your keyword research. More importantly, don’t rely on what google tells you are good keywords. You must, and I do mean must, go out and do your own research if you intend to get even a modicum of traffic from Adwords.
